Color photo. A cluster of trees, half bare of leaves, at the bottom of the frame. Behind them are the waters of Puget Sound, the far shore of which is a line of low dark hills. The photo is dominated by the sky. On either side of the tree are banks of cloud, going golden from the unseen setting sun. Above the tree, as though it was separating the clouds, is a lane of dark blue sky filled with wispy white clouds.

Yesterday I went over to Seattle’s Discovery Park.  It had been a mostly sunny day and my original plan had been to play around with an old manual focus macro lens, but I got there late and the light for that kind of work was gone.

Instead, I was treated to a spectacular sunset.

We don’t get clouds like that often here, so a brilliant show like yesterday’s is a real treat.  I hope you like seeing it through my lens.  I’m glad I didn’t go with my first instinct, which was to leave my workhorse at home and just bring the macro.  🙂
