There are a range of methods for protecting one’s property from various threats and annoyances, including those of a supernatural nature. You can, for example, take the route of carving your own totems to scare hostile spirits away from your land.
Alternately you can make them feel welcome, by providing a weathered old limo to haunt, and hope this improves their mood enough that they leave you alone, and scare off would be human intruders.
You have options, is what I’m saying. Don’t be afraid to explore them. Make others afraid instead.
