Color photo. At the bottom of the frame, the rocky bed of the White River, receding towards the upper right at mid-frame, lined on either side by tall evergreens. One the left a forested slope rises up quickly. In the distance is Mount Rainier, capped in lenticular clouds. The Emmons Glacier, source of the White River, is visible on the mountain's flank.

A few more from my trip to Mount Rainier National Park a couple of weeks ago.

Since the road up to Sunrise was already closed I went to the White River campground instead.  Most of it was already closed as well, but the day-use area wasn’t and it’s right next to the river which suited my purposes nicely.  I wanted to get some shots of the riverbed receding off into the distance towards the mountain with the source of the river, the Emmons Glacier, visible.

Which I got!  Please enjoy them.  🙂

I’ve also included a color version of one of last week’s shots.  I think it works equally well in color; it’s just great in a different way.
