Color macro photo. The frame is filled with small flowers. Each has a yellow center and is surrounded by long, thin petals. Many petals have faded to white, but the ones that haven't go from pale purple up to vibrant indigo.

I haven’t posted much recently, as I’ve not been feeling up to getting out and shooting.  As we move into Autumn though, my favorite season, that’s slowly changing.

We tend to focus a lot on tree leaves changing, for obvious reasons, but in early Autumn I often find myself drawn to the late summer flowers.  There’s something about the way they change that appeals to me.  Before the petals turn brown and fall they fade, often into these really great pastel shades.  I think it’s a neat contrast: the trees are going bright and bold, while the flowers are going subtle.
