Color photo. A woman with long, curly gray hair. She's wearing a purple dress with black bats on it, a black belt, and a necklace with a black and silver pendant. Her left hand is on her hip, and her right hand is holding up the side of her dress. She's smiling.

Fun, impromptu shoot on Sunday with a dear friend who decided that, given it’s now September, we are now in Spooky Season and the Purple Bat Dress needed to come out.

Originally she’d booked me to do her and her husband’s anniversary shoot that day but circumstances dictated a reschedule.  She kept the appointment with her makeup artist though, put on The Dress, and we went out to their back yard and did a little shoot anyway.  I almost always shoot primes when doing portraits, but used this as an opportunity to play around with the 70-200mm f2.8 as a portrait lens. I admit this is not an unusual choice generally, I just don’t normally use it for this kind of shooting.  😀

I’m pretty happy with the results!
