Color photo. A plant growing out of a crack in a lichen covered rock. The plant has a long orange stem that fades to yellow-green at the end, where it splits out into a cluster of flowers with green and yellow petals. The stem is has a collection of small leaves growing from it that match the color of the part of the stem they grow from. The base, at the crack, is a collection of larger orange leaves, with smaller green ones beside them.

Since all of the photos in the last post were black & white, I figured I’d do a post of colorful photos from the same trip.  🙂

All of these were taken at Deception Pass State Park, mostly in the Rosario Head area.  The lead photo is, I think, Broadleaf Stonecrop.  I’ve seen it before in other places growing, as its name implies, from cracks in stone, and its shock of bright color against grey rock always grabs my eye.

I’ve also included a color version of one of the photos from the prior post.  While I, personally, like it best in black & white, it works in color too I think.
