Today?  Today is absolutely about definition #1.

I’ve had opportunity to see a total eclipse once before, in 2017, and it was utterly awe-inspiring.  Afterwards, when I looked to see when the next anywhere near me would occur, I was delighted to discover that it was only a few years away, and the path of totality would go over my home town.

It was a bit of a stretch, but I was able to make it back.  I got to see this amazing, humbling sight again, in my home town, with my mother standing beside me being just as awed as I.

If you were on the path of totality yourself, I hope your view was clear and you got to see what I saw.  If you missed it, I hope you enjoy these shots I took during the three-ish minutes of totality we got to experience.
